Provides significantly greater disaster protection, improved production performance by moving critical maintenance tasks off production resources, and increased availability by eliminating quietpoint locks.
Active Stall Monitor
Detects long database stalls in real-time, identifying the blocking process and resource involved. Highly configurable to allow immediate notification and action to resolve stalls with summary reporting for root cause analysis of frequent stalls.
Reference Databases
Copies of your production database, available for reporting, testing, training, or ad-hoc analysis? SCI’s reference databases are copies of your production databases – refreshed on-demand or schedule.
Client/Server Manager
Provides VMS cluster reliability and load balancing with the performance of a dedicated database server.
Getting Started
Step One - 24x7 Proactive Monitoring
After an initial review of the customer’s database environment, SCI installs and configures our extensive suite of Remote DBA management software. This software proactively monitors the environment 24 x 7 for significant changes or events that threaten the database’s availability, performance, or integrity. Alerts, exceptions, performance data, and job/process status are sent to servers at SCI’s headquarters for analysis. SCI’s team of database experts is immediately alerted and responds to critical events.
Step Two - Automatic Expert Engagement
Servers at SCI’s offices examine each message from all Remote DBA sites and dispatch the appropriate action. SCI’s database experts are instantly notified of any changes to the database that may degrade performance or place the database at risk – and they take appropriate action to divert a problem.
Step Three - Ongoing Reporting
Included in the Remote DBA Service, clients receive a monthly DBA Report. This report keeps clients informed about important issues and events affecting their database environment.
